About that one bridge in Heterocera

Over the years in Second Life, I've seen the moles come up with amazing bridges, from suspension bridges, to bridges ontop of dams, to draw bridges even simple wooden support bridges that all look amazing.
But there is this one bridge in Heterocera that doesn't feel up to snuff as it makes no structural sense with the ramps in between.... I've seen the best of vehicles getting stuck trying to climb the ramps or descent from them. The bridge in question is one http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Behrii/48/241/83
I hope the moles can use their years of creativity to design a better bridge or improve the bridge that spans the gulf of heterocera

I'm fine with the existing boardwalk format - as long as no one falls through anywhere along the several region crossings it serves.
tbh for a densely populated space like central Heterocera it doesn't make sense to generate more lag with a spectacular build OR a long spectacular build crossing regions in many places, nor would it be possible given the protected's LI alotment.
I can't tell you how often I hoverboarded across it back in the day on my practical trips from northern atoll to Bay City.
I'm all for landmark status and preservation :)

Hi! I love the way it is now,. Being a difficult bridge like this one helped me a lot to improve my driving skills. Using a Haru motors vehicle (Hien model), since the times where internet was about 12 Mps , using an old computer with intel graphics..
I also favor for that broken brigge in Samsara, which needs a gain a big amount of acceleration and at the same time being precise to keep the vehicle in the right angle, or will land over someones backyard..
Very fun, I vote for please don't change them:)

estrella Seminario The problem has nothing to do with driving "skill". The issue with this particulat type of bridge on SL is that many cars either sink into the ramps and get stuck OR they get caught in the angled incline and flip on their nose or side.

Ah yes, I am very familiar with this bridge and the difficulties in traversing it.
We are going to see if we can improve it's usability without losing its historic character in between other priority projects.

Abnor Mole Thank you so much :)
I really do love life in Heterocera and I know its one of the earliest continents made in SL hence why stuff is historic <3

Oh yes. Some vehicles I own tend to get stopped and clipped into the sloped surfaces where the slope turns upwards in relation to the vehicle. Sometimes my vehicle's wheels sink into the deck too which is a major pain.
However I would like someone to take a closer look at ALL of the bridges made using this method, I am pretty sure this behaviour effects all of them.

If this bridge was built like this to allow boats pass under the raised parts, that would be much better with a drawbridge structure, so elimimating this roller coaster resemblance and substituting it with a drawbridge where needed would be a good idea.

ahahah im gonna try my modular truck stuff here, before this bridge gets fixed, i'll need some good luck

Yea the ramps combined with region borders makes for a challenge to cross it, though it was quite useful for testing new vehicle scripts. Success is defined by if you can make it across at 30% power without going for a swim!
It would be nice to see it get an update.

Atomic Infinity i go at 10km/h there... >.>
jogging speed.

Lol, i was thinking something similar.

Atomic Infinity Because there's no actual land beneath the surface you ride on - I used to jump my hoverboard and land and re-jump to cross it. Another reason why it is NOT favorable to put a bridge with edges or archways or other builds over it. Too problematic for vehicle driving or mega-hopping.
