Auto-Populate Abandoned Land with Linden Plants/Trees

Currently, abandoned land looks pretty depressing on the mainland with it being utterly devoid of any plant life, and the repeating ground texture isn't doing it any favors, either.
I feel the governance team should have access to some kind of script or function that takes abandoned land on the simulator, and randomly populates Linden Plants and Trees onto the parcel. The built-in plants are good enough for background vegetation and are relatively cheap to render.
There are obviously some considerations needed, such as terrain height and water height limiters, as well as biomes/themes for each continent. Ideally, a grid-wide auto-populator batch script would reduce workload for governance, though I'm uncertain of how much the region conductor is aware of abandoned land. Even if existing abandoned land is impossible to automate in this way, it's far more likely that it's possible to add an auto-populate script to the workflow of reclaiming land.
I sincerely hope something like this is possible as the barrenness of mainland is a detriment to the user joy of mainland residents. I know it certainly reduces my joy in its current state.

We actually used to do this many many many years ago. A Linden could rez an object that would traverse the parcel dropping random Linden trees and plants as it went. The practice was abandoned when the overwhelming sentiment from residents at the time was "Please stop. You're not making the land look better. You're just making those old Linden Trees look worse."
I'm afraid we'll have to opt not to return to that practice under the "Been there. Done that. It didn't turn out the way we thought it would" rule. ;)
We do appreciate the thought behind the suggestion though. (We honestly thought it was a good idea at the time too).

I live on Corsica on a LL road. There is a LL bush and a LL tree (first generation) that are encroaching onto my land. LL trees and plants aren't returnable by residents. I contacted LDPW after I bought the land to see if it was possible to have the big bush and tree just taken back up from someone from LDPW I was told, 'No. Sorry, you'll just have to live with it like that.'
And I have for the last five years.
The only thing that will make Mainland more attractive are two things:
- Being promoted more by LL, instead of LL concentrating their promos on Belliessira.
- Making it more affordable for non land-flippers.
Personally, I enjoy seeing long rolling hills and large areas of green grassy terrain around me. If I don't enjoy seeing something outside of my window, I de-render it and I'm happy again.
