Connect Route 8B and Old Wagon Road Between Camazotz and Rethymno

These two roads are very close to each other, the total distance between them is less than 450 meters. They had never been connected since they exist, even though it would be very useful as the Old Wagon Road is connected to Route 8A so this connection in question would facilitate driving in this area without having to drive around through Furki.
Roadside land is usually very popular here and in fact there is no abandoned roadside land in Camazotz right now, but the crucial land in Rethymno was abandoned lately. At this time it would be a good first step to reserve a road parcel here between Old Wagon Road and the Northern border of Rethymno. Most of Tlahuelpuchi is abandoned land all the time, so reserving some of it would be a good idea as well, however currently it is unpredictable where in Camazotz it would be possible to make the connection, so I am only suggesting to reserve a parcel for road building in Rethymno at this time.
Eventually making the connection between these roads when the circumstances finally allow it would make new roadside land more valuable, useful and generally more community friendly.
Thank you in advance for considering this idea.

Thank you everyone :)
The Old Wagon Road is close to Route 8B, but making a connection would require taking land from resident ownership. If all of the land required to continue the road was abandoned that would be a different story, but that does not appear to be the case. So connecting to Route 8B is not in the cards at the moment.
Connecting it to Route 8A may be though. We're going to look into it and consider whether that strip of land that connects them needs some improvements. :)

Abnor Mole I filed the suggestion now because this is a hide and seek game in this area for years now. It can be only done eventually if you start to claim some of the currently abandoned land so that won't be taken by the time some gets abandoned in Camazotz.
OWR is actually connected to 8A but the connector is not paved. There has been a request for paving it that is pending for several years now. It's weird even that hadn't been done before some new roads were built, for example between Aragonese and Ellingson, and the bridge in Fenric and Davros, and fixing several bridges on other continents which took a lot of work, while at the OWR - 8A connection you would just have to place a few dirt road prims on the protected parcels in Sababurg and Kurkenbrai, preferably aligned with each other, which could have been done anytime since the end of 2013 but for some obscure reason never happened.

It's connected to 8A for some values of connected; while there's protected land there, it's not paved, and I've had trouble in the past with encroaching prims from the adjacent parcel. It also had a bad enough change in elevation between regions that I couldn't drive a pickup over it at one point, though that's been fixed. Finally, there's a big enough dropoff at the edge of 8A that you can't really get a vehicle over it coming from the link.

Tonya Souther This connection was one I requested quite some years ago. Although the LDPW at the time were prepared to claim it, they did not make it full road (I have a feeling there was some internal accounting going on, limiting what the LDPW felt they could claim). So it still has NOE along the length of the connecting land.
It would be good if this could be used and upgraded to full road.

Yavanna Llanfair To be honest I think they just forgot about the OWR - 8A connection similarly to how they forgot a lot of "project lands" even some they had already built something on but never finished it.

Yavanna Llanfair The protected land in Sababurg and Kurkenbrai allows object entry.

Tonya Souther The unpaved parcels don't.

AlettaMondragon Resident I just walked that path right before I'd posted that, and checked both unpaved. They don't allow rez or object entry. My bad. They do allow both for group, but not everyone. I misread the panel. Wonder how I was able to drive down them?

Tonya Souther 2 days ago object entry was off there, if it is on now, Abnor must have turned it on.

Tonya Souther Object entry is as off here as always before.
Driving through is another thing, any object that an avatar is sitting on is exempt from object entry restrictions. As long as the avatar can be on the parcel the object will too. If you stand up from the object while on such a parcel the object should be returned to you immediately but due to a bug that doesn't always happen. That is how some lost vehicles can get stuck on object entry disabled parcels and that is how some people can put objects on parcels where rez and object entry are both disabled, if there is no autoreturn on the parcel.
