This feedback is in follow-up to my recent support ticket regarding the possibility of expanding navigable waterways across Mainland. In the reply to my ticket, I was encouraged to submit locations through Feedback where expanding waterways might be appropriate.
Jeogeot is the first continent I am trying to explore for this purpose.
I attempted to travel around Jeogeot by boat to identify specific regions where waterways are blocked or disconnected, but I found that this is an issue across much of the continent rather than at only a few individual locations. In several areas I tried moving my boat across land in edit mode so I could continue exploring from the next available waterway, but I was not successful.
I also had difficulty finding public locations where I could rez my boat, which made exploring the existing waterways even more difficult.
From what I have been able to explore so far, Jeogeot would benefit from considerably more connected navigable water. Where Linden-owned or protected land makes it possible, I would like to suggest reviewing the continent for opportunities to create or connect waterways and to add more public boat rez locations.
Even relatively small connections between existing bodies of water could open up much larger boating routes and make Jeogeot much more accessible for boating and exploration.
I have also attached an example image showing one area where the waterways are blocked or disconnected. This is just one example of the broader issue I encountered while trying to navigate Jeogeot by boat.

Oatmeal Linden this is not just a 1 continent issue. I will do my best to provide a proper example here on Satori. I have uploaded a few photos.
The first shows a zoomed out view for context. Notice the 5 empty regions. 4 full water and 1 half water half coast. These are all protected land. Kokyanwuti, Ludjatako, Ninisinna, Ptesanwi, Ermineskin. Contrary to what the map shows with empty space, all but 2 of the adjacent properties are owned and not for sale. All of these "protected" land regions do not contain "rez zones". Most of the properties do not allow you to pass through in a vehicle or boat. The two properties for sale are 60k for the smallest and 150k for the largest.
The second shows what we own in red. Public land is outlined in green. You may see we have managed to secure enough land to connect Route 8 to the water. This is all publicly accessible and open rez for the public. the main region was purchased from LL directly at 1L per sqm 16x less than the 2 parcel for sale on the coast there. We are lucky to have a bit of public land adjacent to our port on the water but it isn't guaranteed to always be public because it is on a coastal region you chose to sell I guess so it might get purchased if we don't buy it. Not really sure when or why these decisions were made. Hopefully my point will be seen by the time I am done rambling.
the third photo is the parcels in that general coastal area. I drew a line in green from our port to a fairly new problem of this parcel owner blocking access. The area circled in yellow used to be our way through. A land baron owns all of the literally unused properties here on the coast, they made a 16m wide opening through all their parcels and allowed us though after I reached out. Super cool of them right except most of their builds encroach on that 16m wide water parcel and shorten it even further. The cherry on top is if you even touch any of the surrounding parcels in this thin stretch of land as you navigate the turn your boat is immediately returned to you and you are dumped in the water. I struggled to take a dingy through there when we had access. Now we have no access to that area at all. What is the point of flying over to a water region you cant even rez a boat in.

Oatmeal Linden So a few things I need to address. Those water regions are ALWAYS empty. I am not exaggerating check your logs. On occasion the same avatar will stand there for a couple hours then leave. probably a bot. We have been here for months now and I have tried to pay attention to the area. You can even just look at my map photos.
They want 60k for a 4096 parcel on the coast in front of those 2 protected regions. I paid 65k for a full region a couple parcels off the water and have spent far less getting to the water. I say this not as a boast but to point out how inflated that is. That is their right sure but hear me out.
these are not protected water regions. They are PRIVATE. they are not accessible and they don't allow the public to rez. You can argue they are accessible because you can get there but what are you expected to do once you get there?
All along the coast this is set up so you have 1 or 2 protected water regions and then a corner you sold that blocks off these "Protected" regions making them inaccessible and useless. They are decor for the land baron.
I just wonder does this mean the coastal parcels are supporting the cost of those adjacent private regions because the rest of us cannot use them. That one land baron owning just the coast justifies the cost of keeping the water regions online?
Someone brought up that it costs money to make more regions and sure but you are already spending money on regions that are always empty because of this.

Oatmeal Linden In my opinion you are wasting your money on these regions. You could argue it inflates the prices of the adjacent land but for what? LL does not make commissions on private land sales so who is benefitting? so are we doing it just to do it? if that is the case then why isn't it all along the coast? surely the same pattern would continue if the intent was increasing land value.
You have rez zones in what every region in the Blake Sea. Why can I not sail from here north to the Blake Sea. This is the same continent. You have huge communities of drivers and boaters.
I would argue instead of continuing to waste money paying for the empty water regions (if you travel all along the coast here I would bet my money all are empty) connect them. Spend a little extra money and something tells me people will actually use these regions.
I'm sorry for the long winded post but frankly the current situation just seems so stupid. You have multiple regions not being used but paid for by LL all because strips of coastal land (also not being used) blocks them and the water isn't connected to allow access.
I'm serious all that coastal land owned by the 1 or two groups. rentals always empty. WHAT PURPOSE DOES THIS SERVE? I just dont understand having large swaths of "Protected" land that isnt for the public to use.

As you can see in your long list below, this would require a lot of new regions. Jeogeot wasn't built with the idea to have a full sailable coastline, instead it has some coastal areas, it also has the Jeogeot Gulf and the northern part has a large "sea" as well, half of which is part of Bellisseria.
At this point it would make much less sense to add a lot of water regions here. Instead providing everyone the ability to sail around Heterocera - which is blocked by only one missing region - and Sansara, which also wouldn't need many regions, would be much more reasonable. Satori could use a few full water regions between Shell Yeah and Atira as well to provide a good alternative to the narrow waterways on the region edges, and there are similar areas at other continents as well.
Trying to make Jeogeot's coastline sailable would be like making Satori's east coast sailable, which would also need a lot of new regions, so since the Lab doesn't really like to add new water regions anywhere, it would be better to stick to improving the areas that can be done reasonably.

AlettaMondragon Resident I would argue that by not adding regions and avoiding the cost they are currently wasting just as much money upkeeping always empty water regions not accessible to the public for standard use. You cant even rez on them. They are effectively private regions meant to drive up the price of coastal parcels. If that was the point add more and more land value will be added to more coastal parcels. Let's not even compare that to all the LL Home regions that they are happy to host. We aren't asking for 30k water regions. I imagine even homesteads would cover most traffic that would ensue from connecting them.

Spoons Delcon If it were up to me all continents would have full sailable coastlines, seas, all of them would be connected and every waterway would be kept clear at all times. Obviously, I'm not LL.
They keep refusing to add just 1 region at certain spots where it would be already a huge help, so the reality is that we can be glad we can sail at all.
They were about to shut down the 51 water regions of Gaeta I and those sailable regions weren't to be replaced anywhere else, but they've just announced today that they won't shut down Gaeta I. Yay, too late, but whatever. Maybe this is really the time now to have them add all the water regions everywhere because their limited region resources excuse for shutting down Gaeta I and expanding Zindra was clearly a lie.

I have been exploring Jeogeot and so far have only covered roughly half of the continent. Below is the list of regions I have found so far where navigable water is blocked, disconnected, or missing. These are areas where additional water connections or coastal openings would improve boating access.

In many of these areas I was unable to continue by boat and could not find suitable public rez spots either. Even small connections between existing water bodies would open up much larger routes. I plan to continue exploring the rest of the continent and will submit more locations if needed.

LivieLuna Resident I will be honest. I am all for this but i find it ridiculous you have to provide them with the locations. this is obvious when you look at a map and they see more than we do.
