Give Zindra some Mole love, please !

it would be nice if Zindra (the continent hastily built to host the Adult refugees after the demoting of all the ”Mature” main land sims to ”Moderate” status), could get some love from Lindens and Moles...
I mean, we really need it to be brought on par with older main land continents (with public rez zones on roads at each sim border, better public buildings, the addition of water sims and protected water channels to allow sailing all around the continent, the addition of land sims with some hills and mountains, etc).
Also, why not moving it closer to the other continents on the grid (it's just an offset to change in sims coordinates), and link it via an ”Adult channel” to the rest of the SL seas ?...
EDIT: oh, and I almost forgot... Please, fix public parcels (especially roads) permission flags, so to allow scripted vehicle entry and let people providing public transportation have their scripted automated vehicles roam freely the roads of Zindra. E.g. YavaScript PODs, SLGI Transportation System, etc...

Its always been weird how unfinished it has been since the start. It's obvious just from the world map that it was abandoned mid way and never resumed.
If they don't want to add more sellable regions, at least add some open space around the unfinished edges to flesh out out, plus a bunch of the other low hanging fruit issues mentioned here

Personally I only really care about it being connected to the other mainlands so that it would be possible to navigate to it via boat or plane, but I care about that very much.

To paraphrase Patch's continued responses about Zindra "There's no business sense in expanding or investing in Zindra. There's so much other abandoned mainland and so much land on Zindra already for sale!" Which is complete BS, considering the only two regions available for sale(whole) on Zindra would cost over $3000 to buy while on Moderate or General you can find entire abandoned regions and pay a measly $262.
Meanwhile, Zindra has a major route at Harriot and Keranio that could easily be connected WITH ONE REGION. For a total of four regions you could connect another two major road routes.
LL keeps saying they want to embrace the adult community, a huge part of the community that keeps SL running and active, but continues to dismiss it at every turn. The leading conspiracy between my friends is that a senior Linden is one of the main land barons profiting off keeping Zindra limited. Which is the only explanation aside from LL intentionally neglecting and abusing the adult community in order to push the sale of more private regions and keep the community splintered.
To the moles who will end up being tasked with a few pity projects to appease us temporarily until people forget, thank you for your efforts. There is good folk working at LL and those of you who actually care and listen to the residents are greatly appreciated.

Fifty-twoth +1. Most of the South and SW area of Zindra's edge is impassable with ban-line areas filling the ocean area right up to the edge of the world and walls blocking the ocean. Ofc, people bought that land, want to build on it, and want privacy, clearly, and it makes the entire waterfront essentially less useful as a waterfront. The continent feels less useable.
There's also tons of corner-crossings that cut sharply into people's land. These make traveling the continent incredibly contentious, leading to wild pricing (people sometimes charging 900 L$/meter for little parcels right at a 3-region crossing, etc) and short-time ban orbs and all sorts of back and forth with people not wanting traffic sailing 1 meter from their houses versus people trying to sail from their waterfront up to the open Zindra ocean.
All in all, 6 ocean parcels would solve all the impossible 3-region corner cut-ins, and 16 in total would make the entire thing sailable without running into people's land.
The Roadways in Zindra look like glass, btw, with the PBR update, and could use a tweak.
Six or 16 buffers is a lot of empty ocean to ask for, I know. But as others have pointed out, adding a buffer is normal in any modern mainland. Consistent neglect to keep Adult working like other lands has a ripple effect on pricing, policy enforcement, the kinds of behaviors people engage in at other places, etc as people avoid the second-class land off the farthest corner of the map.
Horizons, lots of the sidewalks span regions without physics. Many of the mailboxes for rezzing houses (or removing a house to build your own) have had their scripts crash, and they do not respond. Many of the scifi benches in the parks have crashed scripts and don't perform sits properly anymore. Also textures on the LL-made buildings misalign horribly at lower LODs, but this isn't a simple fix.
I have attached a screenshot of at least one example of everything mentioned.
I'd like to sum up the issue a bit by calling out, a bit, the "have it both ways" excuses that have long plagued Mainland Adult. A Sr VP at LL summed up Adult rated mainland land at SL20B in a way that seems to give insight:
"Other than the fact that you know you can't like run down the street uh completely disrobed in, in we'll call it uh an aroused state because that's what differentiates adult from moderate; that's the only differentiation. In fact you can run down the street naked in a moderate region now, um, as long as you're not aroused."
I worry that there's likely a disparity between the percieved only purpose for the land and the perceived value of the space by the residents with land there. I'll elaborate, referencing further points from that video.
It's often been pointed out that there's no need to work on Adult mainland because there's an overabundance of that land "for sale" at high prices and various discussions "looking into it" suggest that more Adult isn't needed even though continuing work on Adult mainland "keeps coming up." (From that video)
Meanwhile, land that is themed, more modern with nicer LL-made areas and building/privacy practices, and available for Free to subscribers is being added absolutely continuously to the Moderate areas. Combine this with the LL perspective that there's almost nothing one would need mainland A for that you can't do on Mainland M and you have a self-feeding loop. The vastly smaller Adult mainland is rarer, costlier, and anyone who can get away with moving to LL's much nicer Mainland M does so, leaving the little unwanted corner with high priced, low-volume land sales and faltering infrastructure.
Do watch a few minutes along the SL20B video I've linked, and please note that it says that the requests come up very often. And that the push for work in Adult dies out when asked at regular Usergroup meetings. And that re-evaluating relevancy and building around a theme are possible paths forward. So with that in mind, I'd like to ask that another such reconsidering be given now.
The time seems right:
Horizons is built around a theme, is tiny, and yet is among the most desireable and $$$ land in all of SL despite its aged look and broken utilities; Useable water and expanded land with updated graphics and updated land-making practices come up regularly according to that video. And, there's been a recent shift in policy relating to certain types of behavior acceptable in various areas in SL. It seems as though many things are falling behind in Mainland A, residents want something done, and if I heard the video right, are poorly represented at the usual meetings. May I suggest... Aug? The Adult Users Group, and also the sound you make when you read this pun-ed name suggestion? ;D
But really, if it keeps coming up as a request, the demand seems to exist, and the existing groups won't talk about it, let's get that going!

Zindra safe hubs:
- The Zindra and Horizons safe hubs tend to be cluttered with lost bots. That's become better, but it's not fixed. I'd suggest putting in an experience script which detects avatars that haven't moved or talked in a few hours, and seats them on some of the available furniture to clear them from the landing point.
- Fix the displays at the safe hubs. They have links to dead videos and other useless information. If there's going to be an adult welcome area, put in a portal to it.
- Safe hubs adjacent to water should have a dock and a boat rezzer. Safe hubs adjacent to land should have at least a bicycle rezzer. That will encourage users to explore.
All the safe hubs use the same items, so this isn't too much work.

Minor tasks:
- Fix all Kama City road intersections to provide a support prim for region crossings. The region crossing design tried to do this, but got it wrong. Fix that and do a search and replace for the four standard region crossing pieces.
- Fix bridges with the same problem. You can fall through the Kama City bridges just walking.
- Consider getting rid of the useless traffic lights in Kama City. There's not enough traffic. Or make them switch to flashing yellow during low-traffic periods, which is all the time.
- Add road rez zone markings, as are standard for Belli and Corsica. More rez zones would help, too.
- Find the very few water rez areas and mark them. Zindra has a good sea, but nobody can rez boats.
These are all routine Department of Public Works tasks.

Supporting this proposal.
Of all the unfinished continents Zindra is the most stark example and while it might not need expanded to its original vision size wise it does at least need the same level of amenities as other continents.
