Homestead Upgrade

An option to upgrade the prim allowance on a Homestead region, from say 5000 prims to 7500 prims or 10,000 prims. We have options on with upgrade option for a full region from 20,000 prims to 30,000 prims and paying extra for this and think Homesteads could do with an upgrade option also, I think this would help to get Homestead regions more popular and more online and gives people more usability for the space of the region.

Title: Optional 10,000-Prim Homestead Tier
Details: Second Life homesteads currently max out at 5,000 prims. I’d like to propose an additional optional tier that offers 10,000 prims on homestead regions. This would provide more creative freedom for residents while generating increased recurring revenue for Linden Lab.
By offering a 10k-prim homestead tier:
• Residents can build richer environments without needing to upgrade to a full region.
• Content creators can develop more detailed experiences.
• Landowners can manage larger or more complex rentals without needing multiple regions.
• Linden Lab gains a new revenue-positive product with minimal structural change to the existing estate system.
This would be a genuinely mutually beneficial feature. It opens more creative possibilities for users and adds a new, desirable land classification for Linden Lab to offer.

Why Raising Homestead Prims to 7,500 Would Be a Game-Changer for Second Life
Second Life’s Homestead regions have long been a popular middle-ground choice: more affordable than a full region, yet offering far more freedom than a standard parcel. Increasing the prim allowance from 5,000 to 7,500 would not only enhance the creative potential of these regions, but also serve as a strong economic and community booster across the platform.
First, a higher prim limit gives residents more room to build meaningful, immersive environments without compromising quality or detail. Many creators struggle to balance aesthetics with prim efficiency—an increased allowance eases that pressure and encourages more ambitious projects, from lush landscapes to intricate homes and role-play environments.
Second, the change would directly benefit businesses. More prims allow merchants, venue owners, rental companies, and community managers to offer richer experiences. Better builds attract more visitors, renters, and customers—fueling a healthier in-world economy. It also creates more demand for content from designers, supporting the entire creator ecosystem.
Finally, offering 7,500 prims on a Homestead makes the option far more appealing for both existing and new landowners. It increases perceived value without fundamentally altering performance expectations, strengthening user satisfaction and potentially increasing region ownership.

JaninStarlight Resident I agree completely, I just hope that Linden Labs will take this into serious consideration and implement such a change as I too believe that this benefits both residents and Linden Labs without any negative impact to the land market.
Having 5000 prims is just not enough for a homestead, especially when paying more than 50% of the price of a 20k prim region, yet only get 25% of the prims and avatar limits, so I think that an increase to 7500 prims, maybe increase avatar limits to 30 or 35 and also keeping the cost the same as it is now, it will keep 20k prim regions as the much better value option for residents and give us that pay so much for so little more value for this.
I believe that this change overall would give residents much more value and usability for a homestead region which will both increase demand for these regions and will increase Linden Labs revenues having more homesteads on the grid.

More Room to Grow: Why Upgrading to 7,500 Prims Makes Sense
As a long-time resident and Homestead owner in Second Life, I’ve truly enjoyed the creative freedom that comes with managing a 5,000-prim region. It’s a wonderful balance between performance and flexibility. But over time, as ideas expand and communities grow, those prim limits can start to feel a little tight.
An upgrade to 7,500 prims would open up a whole new level of possibility. It would allow residents to build more detailed environments, add richer landscaping, or host more interactive spaces — all without compromising the smooth performance that Homesteads are known for.
With today’s improved server capacities and optimization tools, an increase to 7,500 prims would not only enhance creative potential but also strengthen the overall value of owning a Homestead. It encourages long-term engagement and supports those who invest time, imagination, and care into making their regions vibrant and welcoming.

It makes sense to upgrade the prim count. At the current Prim counts, homesteads don't make much financial sense.

Personally i like the idea and being in Real Estate in SL i think alot more Homesteads would be rented out, as its always the prims that are a factor , people like the idea of renting a full region , but some cannot afford it , and that a homestead with more prims would to me sound a Great Idea, you have My Vote !

Yes I agree as well with expanding. It would give the smaller places an option to grow and then might lead to going to full sims.

As a top tier premium member i whole-heartedly agree. Homestead with at least 7500 tpo 10k prims would place us in an exceptional space.

Homestead's in Second Life

With the Economy, people aren't able to pay for a full sim any more. So they tend to try homesteads. But alas homesteads only have 5k in prims compared up to a full sim of 30k if a person pays for that. So my request is make second life affordable again. Where people can have up to 7500 prims on a homestead instead of just the 5k. Possibly that will also bring people back to Second life as well. That way they have more prims to use on homesteads for the same price they already are paying. Because when someone rents a homestead people are charging already more then half the payment of a full sim when they rent it but dont even get half the prims of a full sim.

Plz LL. I’m a homestead owner i think that it would be a great idea to upgrade to a full region. I learned about this from my girlfriend who was a friend of the man that posted this even though I am going to upgrade to a full region if the Homestead was 10,000 I would be able to not only add a another full(20k) region to my region (30k)but a Homestead on top of it because it would be better value per prim and make my full region more interest (so i could do 20x30x10)
or something similar just my thoughts
