Oatmeal Linden i Agree with the 209.00$ Part what i dont Agree with is the 349.00$ Part why the Extra 140.00 USD? i use to run a Grid with a team its Not 140 USD worth for some 1 to install a sim... n the math to this be 349-209 so the starter price- then monthly price= 140.00 USD. So why a Extra 140 To start?

jessica111 Clary Linden Research Inc has a bigger overhead then opensim grids. Everyone who works for LL gets paid so that money has to come from somewhere.

I have to agree, especially being how all the worlds economies are suffering currently. Lowering the costs even on the mainland costs will get more people buying land... and an overall increase in funds. Simple math will show you... why try getting $116.00 a month from one person when you could get $180.00 a month from two people....

MissSalina Resident i agree cuss idk why it cant be 2091st payment then 209 after why the extra 140 USD? to do a simple task why they feel its worth 140 to install a sim?
River Vortex
MissSalina Resident do you think the economy doesn't affect Linden Lab? They have bills and employees to pay in order to keep SL going.

jessica111 Clary Yes... the sim space is already there... the set up is done by them using the same program they have for every single other sim they have "set up". Unfortunately Second life doesn't have much competition in this market... so they don't have to make their costs competitive. It's the same thing as someone owning the only restaurant in New York City.... they charge what they want because they don't have any competition. They could lower the prices on a lot of things.... but then some of the LL owners will have to sell their summer homes and get rid of their expensive boats.

That setup fee includes the first month maintenance.

River Vortex yeah but whats worth 140$ USD? the extra ur paying?
River Vortex
jessica111 Clary that's the setup fee. Whether it takes a minute or an hour it's the fee if you want a private region. 🤷♂
jessica111 Clary
River Vortex ok but lets say it got lowered and u had 2 options to pay the extra 140 or = 349 or just pay 209 which one u gonna pay..? your gonna pay for lowest so that's the whole issue certain people have the 140 ant worth what service they are providing . And the whole reason for this vote, feedback to get it reasonable not just go its ok i don't plan on getting a sim so it dont effect me cuss if you did have a sim or planed on getting a new 1 u be all for it
River Vortex
jessica111 Clary I have a region already and have for years. I just don't agree that a setup fee is unreasonable. You're entitled to your opinion however.
