I have noticed that lately the feedback forums are very active with posts being shown as more than just tracked. This is, quite frankly fantastic. But it makes me worry that the people working on this projects might be working themselves thin at times.
Therefore I would like to propose that Lindens & Moles who's jobs as far as we, the users can see is to "fix things" are allowed time out of their day, or week more than just the usual off time, breaks, lunch, etc to work on projects of choice or even just actual time to just...play Second Life. This is time that they can use to either work on things they personally see as important, or to just decompress and have fun.
Obviously all of this must be done within reason as some form of professionalism must be maintained and some form of structure is required if the projects in question are sensitive enough that it may interfere with the development of SL or the experience of users. But just some hours of free time to say, build, fix something small, chill for a bit, explore or partake in group activities may do wonders for the health of those working hard to make Second Life a better place for everyone.
I understand that at it's core this is a company decision, not that of the consumer despite us Residents being allowed some say in the direction of SL. But I, a consumer who enjoys Second Life and has for many years would like to see that they are allowed to enjoy it too.

A lot of interesting wrinkles in the Second Life infrastructure and mainland builds often eventuated from free staff playtime in the sandbox, whether in terms of scripts and building inworld or playing around with code on Beta Grid. This is part of what separates Second Life very far from the expensive failure of Meta's own attempts, and should be encouraged where it does not conflict with the grid's own needs, since it's relatively cheaper than throwing money and scheduled time at something.
