Reasons its not popular due to sl roads are not standarized all roads should point in same direction and not rotated 180 degrees out from each other curves should ben name same as rest of the roads no different same as intersections.

so you want long straight roads? I like the twists and turns, it takes some skill and well avoiding region corners is not for the weak lol.

Not sure how the prims which constitute the roads themselves being named and aligned actually effects people driving, or riding, vehicles on them. I would know I was on Route 8, for instance, by the parcel name; I wouldn't need to know what the road prim itself is called to drive on it.
The only benefit I could see, would be to make scripting autonomous objects like tour pods simpler; if all they had to do was follow the X axis or Y axis of the prim below them to the next one.
As a Person who wants to drive and control my vehicles myself, and having some skill in doing so, this would be redundant; if I want a very "on-rails" experience, I'll go by train.
