Terrible slow down of wifi speed on tablet (SL only)

I connect with the mobile app on a Samsung SM-X205 tablet, 4GB ram, Android 14. It can connect at 453 MB with an average of 390 MB to my router. As soon as I have logged in the connection speed is throttled to 18 MB. My experience is "less than optimal".
I connect with the mobile app on my Samsung A536B phone, 6GB rm, Android 15. It can connect at 453 MB with the same average of 390 MB to my router. As soon as I have logged in the connection speed is throttled to 260 MB. A way better experience than the tablet, although I prefer the big screen, especially when sitting in the train, not having to move around myself.
Is there any setting I can change to prevent the tablet from slowing down so badly? The same does not happen while I'm streaming or using game speed programs on that tablet.

Thanks for your report - could you try downloading the latest app version and lowering the draw distance (Menu > Setting > General > Max Draw Distance? Please report back.

Bridie Linden I lowered the draw distance from 40 to 30 m. That didn't really help. I was in a skybox with few textures to load. The general connection speed of the tablet took a dive to 18Mb when I connected to SL (as monitored in the connection list of my router). However when Google started to do updates it went back to 351Mb. Until that process was finished and it slumped back to 18.
I still think I must be overlooking something.
