Getting chats from groups I already left

I joined and left the Rama hair group a week or so, but I got their chat a few minutes ago under the title "Conference with (avatar's name)." I didn't know the avatar in question so I asked what it was about. They said I was in the Rama group chat and that I was a member. I knew I left that group and checked my list to confirm, but a mod said I was still showing up in the member's list on her end. I checked the forums and saw that this was

I've seen a similar issue - I've been doing some group cleanup and leaving bunch of groups, and in the next few days I've receved group chat messages from some of them.
Closing those chats did stop any further messages.

Hi SabrinaCooke Resident, a chat labeled "Conference with (avatar's name)." would be distinct from the Rama hair group's chat - what you saw in that case was an "ad-hoc conference": https://community.secondlife.com/knowledgebase/english/text-chat-and-instant-messages-r70/#Section__2_5
You may be added to an ad-hoc conference by anybody in SL - it is not affected by which groups the conference members are in.
Have you actually received group chat messages from "RAMA" after leaving the group, or were you just told you were present in RAMA group chat by the person in the conference chat? If they latter, they may be mistaken.
When I look up the group chat session details from "RAMA" (this group, right?: secondlife:///app/group/aa472aec-08f6-90ab-d6a8-1f7fc43b30df/about ), I don't see any evidence of you being present in it.

Rama chat, and the same moderator also told me that I was still showing up in the members list despite me having left a week or so prior. I also triple checked my groups list during my convo with the mod and confirmed that I was no longer in the group, which confused us both. A couple of other people in the chat at the time, as well as a friend/contact of mine, told me that they'd also experienced the glitch on their end at various times the past few weeks.Maestro Linden
SabrinaCooke Resident: interesting, so the other group members see you listed in the group chat session incorrectly. Do you know if the issue (seeing your name incorrectly) persists between viewer sessions for them? Or alternatively, are you actually receiving chat messages when people chat in the group?

Maestro Linden: I'm not sure if they're still seeing me in the group, since I stopped receiving messages from Rama after I reported the bug and closed the conference/chat. But I was definitely receiving messages at the time it happened, since several people in the conf/chat were replying to me.
