There is some deeper issue in group chats somewhere - the other day a group chat opened itself in my chat window for a group that I voluntarily left weeks ago. I log out each day, so its not just a persisting-until-relog thing.

I could verfied that eyected or baned members still in group until they close group chat windows.

So, when we want to remove an annoying user from group chat, we, first at all, mute him/her and then eyect or ban.

I have attempted a ban to see if will fix, but this could result in some really bad information leaks to people who should not have it.
