SL network issues
needs info
AmicusMywolf Resident
I've noticed that SL currently has many areas that randomly prevent people from our country from accessing it.
We started discovering in July 2025 that SIMs in SL would become inaccessible at random times.
Does SL have a better server access node?
I'm in the neighboring SIM but can't see the SIM I need to access, even though my plot of land is also within the SIM I need to access. This phenomenon isn't unique to this SIM; it happens in many other SIMs and is a collective event.
I tried using a VPN and different browsers, but the same problem persisted.

Hi AmicusMywolf Resident are you still seeing connection issues with Nonacho? The region has moved to a different IP address.
If you are still seeing network issues, another option which might help is to lower the "Maximum Bandwidth" setting, which is documented in the 'Reduce maximum bandwidth' section here:
1500kbps might be a good start, before trying the suggested 500kbps.

Hi AmicusMywolf Resident, I have a few questions:
- What are the full symptoms you see in the viewer when trying to visit 'Nonacho'? Is your avatar able to enter the region, or does the region appear as empty water when you stand in a neighboring location (such as http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Chamcook/131/252/77 )?
- For the past ~52 hours, region 'Nonacho' has been running on simhost-0d69207f0d5434c39.agni.secondlife.io (54.148.93.254). If you were able to visit the region, you could see this address in the 'Help -> About Firestorm'. Are you able to visit other regions running on this host, such as http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Guksu/128/128/2 or http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Grahica/128/128/2 ?
- Are you able to open https://simhost-0d69207f0d5434c39.agni.secondlife.io:12043 in a browser? The 'expected' result in that case is to see a Forbidden Your request is being denied because it lacks the permissions needed to make it.response.
- The 23.197.49.17IP address from yourpingscreenshot is actually part of Akamai's network. The viewer is connecting to Akamai to download mesh and texture assets. Are you also having difficulty viewing meshes and textures in SL? Missing mesh objects would not appear at all, and missing texture assets would appear as solid grey.

1、When I try to access the area at Nonacho from Second Life due to a network interruption.
I, standing next to SIM, couldn't see Nonacho; it was the ocean.
2、I can see that I'm pinging this IP address but it's not getting a response.
3、I get a message saying this website is blocked when I try to access it.

In some cases, textures, models, animations, and scripts may fail to load or display.
AmicusMywolf Resident
I can't access Nonacho, I can only copy this content from the neighboring SIM.
Maestro Linden
AmicusMywolf Resident: Okay these 2 things are normal:
- No response from 'ping': the firewall on the sim host blocks ping requests from anywhere
- The "Forbidden" response is expected for the https://simhost-0d69207f0d5434c39.agni.secondlife.io:12043 URL - it indicates that you're able to connect to https on the simulator host properly.
Are you able to visit these 2 locations, http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Guksu/128/128/2 and http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Grahica/128/128/2 ? They are running on the same sim host as 'Nonacho'.
AmicusMywolf Resident
Maestro LindenI cannot access the SIM you provided.
AmicusMywolf Resident
Currently, there are abnormal area addresses:http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Nonacho/218/212/2302
This is just one of them
steph Arnott
AmicusMywolf Resident, visited that address it is a sky box. Suggest you do a clean instal.
AmicusMywolf Resident
steph ArnottThis is not caused by the browser, but by the SL server.
steph Arnott
AmicusMywolf Resident, NO, has zero to do with SL. As I stated do a clean instal.
AmicusMywolf Resident
steph ArnottDo you think you're the only one with a clean connection? This is an SL server problem. Does everyone in China have connection problems because of installation file issues?
steph Arnott
AmicusMywolf Resident, clearly you are only interested in ranting irrational drivel, there was a good reason why I suggested a delete and clean instal. As it stands now you have lost any good will help and this ship has sailed past you, good luck treading water.

steph ArnottYou have no ability to control my behavior; you're just a self-righteous person.
