Unable to edit friend's objects on adjacent sim, even after sim crossing

While having full permission to edit the objects of my friends, I am unable make any changes to friend owned objects if they are on a neighboring sim.
Teleporting to the same region as the object does not resolve this. Upon returning to my original sim, I will then be unable to edit objects owned by friends at all.
Changing my active group to be the same as that of the objects, works to allow me to edit said objects on the original sim sometimes, but I remain unable to edit objects on the adjoining sim while across the region line, or right next to it to the object.

Hi Shay Finchy, I'm having trouble reproducing this issue with Second Life Release 7.1.7.8974243247 (64bit) on Second Life Server 2024-04-13.8669470296.
Here's what I tried:
- UserA: Open UserB's (who is a friend) profile
- UserA: In the UserB's profile floater, Click 'Actions' -> 'Permissions', and enable "Edit, delete, or take objects from my land'. Click 'OK' to apply.
- UserA: Relog into a region with a neighboring region, and move near the border
- UserB: Login to UserA's neighboring region
- UserB: Open People -> Friends, and hover the cursor over UserA's name. Observe an icon appears with a tooltip that "You can edit this friend's objects"
- UserA: Rez a box with the build tool
- UserB, select the box, and use the build tool to resize it
- Both users: observe that the box has been resized successfully by UserB
If you follow these steps with a different friend, do you see different behavior? If so, at which point is it failing? If not, does the issue reproduce with your original friend when you follow all 8 steps ( revoke and grant the permissions again)?
If this issue persists, can you confirm that the object's actual owner (UserA in my example) can edit the objects? Obviously, if the owner cannot modify the object due to permissions, they can't grant that ability to anybody else.
