Duncan Blackburn conneciton issues
Duncan Blackburn
On 05/16/2026 @ 10:00 SLT I was logged in, and everything was going fine, a bit slow on performance compared to normal. I was at a sim called Breakwater Beach - Humans and Nude/Swimwear Only (b394f4af-cf3f-83e0-a74b-4b6cda07af86). While chatting with a friend, a message popped up about the region having issues. I was logged off (more crashed off) of the grid. Since then, I have been trying to log back in under my Duncna Blackburn account, but it fails every time with the following messages: "Requesting region capabilities, attempt...." It very quickly goes through several attempt numbers, then fails and displays "We're having trouble connecting. There may be a problem with your internet connection in Second Life. You can either check your internet connection and try again in a few minutes, click Help to view the Firestorm support portal, or click Teleport to attempt to teleport home." I have attempted the teleport only to get the same result. To verify it isn't just Firestrom, I tried logging in under Blackdragon with the same error, and using the Official SL Viewer also had the same error. I do have a second account and can log in using the alternate account. This shows me it is not a viewer issue, but since the region issue crashed me, somehow my Duncan Blackburn account is messed up. Obviously, I can log into the SL web page with the Duncan Blackburn account, as I am submitting this ticket from that login

Hi Duncan, are you still seeing this issue? I see multiple login attempts from you on May 16 when trying to connect to your home region, which failed due to a timeout between the region and your viewer. It looks like you were able to login successfully a bit later by trying an alternate region as a start location.

Duncan Blackburn I spoke with other Lindens about this, and was able to confirm that it matches another known issue. The issue is basically that a running region can get into a bad state with a particular agent, such that the agent will fail to connect properly. This issue persists for the specific region until it is restarted. 'Breakwater Beach' was restarted by today's rolling restarts, so this particular incident should be resolved, for now.
