Voice fails when two seated avatars share the same position

Aglaia Resident
When two avatars are seated at the exact same global position and both have "Hear voice from avatar position" enabled, they cannot hear each other.
This issue particularly affects all furniture that uses the AVsitter engine: in other words, a very large number of objects.
Steps to reproduce:
- Rez prim A.
- Rez prim B.
- Resize prim B so it is easier to sit on after linking the two prims.
- Using the Edit tools, move B to the exact same global position as A.
- In both prims, add a script to set the sit target : llSitTarget(<0, 0, 1>, ZERO_ROTATION);
- Link B to A.
- Log in with two accounts using two Firestorm instances.
- In both viewers (or at least one), enable voice and set the preference to "Hear voice from avatar position".
- Have one avatar speak. The other avatar will not hear any voice.
Here is the setting to enable: https://gyazo.com/317d50c1019f66aba23b7b50d0bd1955
If you change the preference to "Hear voice from camera position", voice works normally again.
I can also provide a test object that reproduces the issue if needed.
Additional notes:
- Happens in SL official viewer and Firestorm.
- Several customers reported this problem after Second Life migrated voice to WebRTC a few months ago, so I believe it did not occur before the WebRTC update

Thanks for the report Aglaia Resident. I can reproduce this with Second Life Release 26.4.0.37384746592 on SLS 2026-09-28.36457939353. This is definitely voice server issue, since the voice server is responsible for nearby voice audio mixing.

Maestro Linden It can also be fixed on the viewer side (I tested it locally), but I already informed Roxie Linden about it and they said they will fix it on the server-side as it will land faster than a viewer update.
