Recently I changed my password and used my first name to begin the password (e.g. [REDACTED 1]). I logged in on the SL viewer and Firestorm successfully.

Then I tried logging in to secondlife.com and was rejected, with a message informing me that my password begins with my name, and that's not allowed? Oh, really?

I changed it to something like [REDACTED 2], and everything is happy now.

This is a weird distinction between the second life world and the second life website. Why is it there and what can be done about it?
