Marketplace Listing Cannot Be Edited – “Access Denied”
BillyFishCake Resident
There is a long-standing issue with editing a specific Marketplace listing. Any attempt to save changes results in the following error:
Access Denied
Reference #18.cc77d917.1754187245.6f35d58d
The problem persists across multiple browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge), devices, and networks, and has been reproduced by different accounts with the same result. Clearing caches, using incognito/private windows, and relogging does not resolve the issue.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Log into the Second Life Marketplace.
- Open the existing product listing.
- Make any change (e.g., description, permissions, price).
- Click Save.
- Error is displayed as shown in image.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Expected Result:
• Listing changes should save successfully.
Actual Result:
• Saving fails with an “Access Denied” error every time.
Impact:
• Prevents updating product listings.
• Replicating the listing is not viable due to the loss of ratings/reviews.
This has persisted for years without resolution.

This happened to me a few weeks ago, maybe over a month now that I think about it. I was opening many listings at once and it seemed like it blocked me after opening them too fast. At least that's what I thought. It hasn't happened since. I'm careful to open them slower now. Not sure if it's still what caused that, but wanted to add that I have seen this.
It eventually after time "fixed" itself and I was allowed back in.

Vaygah Varriale Yeah, We were hoping this would be a short-term issue, but it has persisted for over five years. After going back and forth through support tickets, we were finally advised to open a bug report.
