The SL websites insist that I use French

I am a French user, but I prefer to use the SL websites (main official site, marketplace...) in English. Part of the reason is that I have set up email filters so that emails (about sales mainly) from the marketplace are correctly categorized according to their subject etc.
So I use the "language" menu in the website to select English. It sticks to it, to some extent, but every now and then (when I return to the site) it switches back to French, and the emails from marketplace turn French again.
Can you make it so that language selection becomes permanent, until the next manual selection of a different language ?
Thanks

It's some weird cookie mishap, it happens to me sometimes, too. My computer, phone and browsers all use English, but sometimes the MP opens in Spanish or Japanese. I got a purchase notification or something in email in Japanese once as well. If I set it back to English, close my browser and open it again, it doesn't happen again for some time, but occasionally something triggers this. (And for the record, neither me nor my IP address is in Japan or any Spanish-speaking country when this happens.)
I think it might be triggered by the store or listing's MP link when you open a link that had a language tag and it sticks if you don't change it.

Hi Oggy,
Language selection is remembered by cookies. If the cookies are deleted, it may cause it to revert. Navigating to our websites from a search engine like google using a browser with a non english default could also cause it to revert.
Does your browser automatically delete your cookies when closed? Are you navigating directly to our site, or by searching for it first? Does this happen with more than one browser type (firefox, chrome, etc)?

Lettie Linden Hello and thank you for you reply.
I only use Google Chrome to access the SL websites, and always by directly entering the URL in the address bar. I am not aware of any cookie deletion process happening (I do use some extensions, but things like gmail notifier and not much more), and I never delete cookies manually.
While I can understand deleted cookies in my browser may be the cause for my visits to the websites switching to French again, is it supposed to affect the emails sent my the Marketplace website ? I "randomly" get either "Customer xxx purchased 1 item..." or "Le client xxx vous a acheté 1 article..." when someone buys.

I've come to think about it again, and I do sometimes also use the Opera browser from my mobile phone. Maybe there is an unwanted interaction between the two browsers?

Oggy Fink: I suppose that could be possible? I would try setting the language on your phone to english, then log into the web and do the same. Go to several pages in each browser, ensuring they stay in english. Please let me know if it switches back again. If it doesn't, please let me know that it seems stable after a couple of weeks so that I can document that as a potential problem and fix.
As for the emails, they will always be sent to you in the language you last used in your browsser on the website.
