De-rank old and inactive listings

Old listings which are not being purchased, getting reviews, and are owned by accounts with no web or world login activity should be de-ranked to allow them to still be discoverable but not confuse or dilute the search results for users looking for relevant content.
Criteria:
- Inworld login recency
- Web login recency
- Listing sale recency
- Listing review recency
Products that are being sold will not be deranked at all.
Products listed by accounts that are active will not be deranked at all.

Wow, by the time I came across this, it's already closed. Not the first time. They really don't want the Marketplace to function correctly. The statement they make with this is that they want everyone be subjected to the mind control in big customer groups inworld, biased blogs and having to roam curated shopping events to build addiction. Incredible.

While we really like this suggestion and we do plan to do something like it, we are not going to do it in the proposed fashion. Please keep an eye out for future releases and maybe you’ll see an approach we’ve taken that addresses your concerns.
Incoming suggestions are reviewed in the order they are received by a team of Lindens with diverse areas of expertise. We consider a number of factors: Is this change possible? Will it increase lag? Will it break existing content? Is it likely that the number of residents using this feature will justify the time to develop it? Disagree HARD for the sales and reviews, more in agreement for the logins.
It makes sense that the long-term inactive merchants should be lowered in the search for relevance - they won't be available for customer support. So, okay, sure. I can see it.
Sales amount? That will cause products for smaller or niche creators to be de-ranked. That's going to really hurt them, compared to more known creators who get more sales not for necessarily higher quality, but simply more notoriety.
Reviews are hardly used unless the customer is REALLY happy with their purchase, generally has the personal outlook to leave reviews on all their purchases, OR - get a benefit from the creator from doing so. Discounts, refunds, or gift cards in exchange for a review isn't uncommon in the slightest.
I think these factors should be taken into account if the relevancy search algorithm is going to be altered to be overall more beneficial - for both users AND creators

Ziel Omizu Where did anyone say anything about sales count? I care about sales recency. A product that makes 1 sale per month is the same to this proposal as one that makes 1000.
