[Discord] Have a "How to get Help" channel
in progress
Rachelle Kiyori
It's fairly common in Discord to have conversations like this (names edited out):
[06:06]Person A: Hello, I urgently need help from someone at Linden Lab, please.
[06:53]Person B: They don't really offer live support here.
[07:25]Person C: https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/
A lot of people are coming to the Discord expecting help from Linden Lab. While the people on Discord are generally helpful enough and this isn't a problem, it wouldn't be hard for the generally helpful people to be absent one day and someone to provide too much information and/or things to go in an undesirable direction. Ultimately there needs to be a guide on Discord for how to reach Linden Lab, since most of the time Lindens are not looking to help people who should be directed to the ticket pages, they are mostly there when they need help testing things or to ask for feedback.
This proposal is for a special channel in Discord that simply directs prospective users to resources to assist with account and/or governance issues that their fellow residents are unable to assist with.

We're working right now to get support integrated into discord. There will be more information about this posted on our blog when this is ready.
