Ability for Avatars to "sit" on another Avatar

Currently the only way to sync avatars who want to walk together, is limited to invisible prim vehicles. What if an avatar can sit on another avatar?
It would revolutionize the horse riding scene where horse avatars can give rides.
Couples can walk together and go for a scenic stroll.
Ability to play animations that line up better.
Could it be implemented?
Make it so only people in your friendslist can initiate request to "sit" on your avatar.

Allow seating avatars on other avatars

Allow avatars to become sit targets via a script. This would allow for incredibly interesting content such as dancers, couples walkers (Piggy back rides, hugs, holding hands), etc. that would not require a rezzed object. Avatars seated on another avatar could be animated, and control the target avatar, or vice versa.
This would need to be controlled by the target via script to prevent people from just sitting on others. Allowing this would simplify the creation process for creators making these types of systems. It would also allow users to explore second life even in no rez areas such as stores, public land, etc. while still having the ability to interact with others without needing to rez an object.
An example of this could be an avatar attached car, golf cart, sleds, planes, etc. Having the ability to explore second life without worrying about a rezzed object getting stuck on access walls, their object being returned, region crossings, etc.
A stretch ask would be to enable synced teleporting between seated avatars.

There is already a suggestion for this: https://feedback.secondlife.com/feature-requests/p/sit-on-avatar-animesh-skeleton-point

I can imagine the sudden influx of horse avatars at shopping events with their AFK disinterested partners riding along.

Giskard Triellis And? People already ride animesh or bento horses around, or use walkers or followers with other avatars for the same reasons. All this does is make the avatar-to-avatar options less janky.

My 2 biggest questions:
One: how is this different from no-rez devices that already exist where the behavior is allowed via cling feature and relative avi positioning?
Two: Wouldn't it be easier to create a script that serves as a conditional so as to prevent people from latching on without permission to the object being used as opposed to the person being the sit target? Again, this sort of already exists thanks to RLV and people knowing how to script the possibilities.
But it sounds like this would be more specific?
I'm not saying it's not a good idea. But it seems like a slippery slope to make the actual person be the target as that can open the door for worse than what's already out here being used for fun/harassment/nefarious activities.

Kilolo Jenkins llUnsit is a fun LSL function. No reason it couldn't be used to unsit anybody sat on you.
Anyway as I recall, this is an impossible ask, until work is done on scenegraph, which is foundational work that enables a lot of other stuff. Not that I'm not in favour of it. Just that it can't be done until proper scenegraphs are a thing.

Kilolo Jenkins Perfect positional synchronization including rotation. Current hugger/hand holders either rely on a prim which requires rights to build, or are scripted to follow an avatar which is difficult to align properly. If we can link avatars together there's no need for prim or scripted solutions, and it avoids all the misalignment and collision issues with a follower.
For example most follow HUD's position your avatar above the targets avatar, and requires special animations to offset your avatar to the correct position, while these work alignment isn't great and your position will always lag behind the targets position when moving. Linking avatars together would avoid this altogether.

Hello, and thank you for your feature request regarding the ability for avatars to 'sit' on another avatar. This idea has been brought up by another resident recently, and we are merging your comments with the existing request to help us address it more efficiently. We understand how this feature could revolutionize interactions, such as horse riding and couples walking together, and we appreciate the detailed suggestions you provided, including the permissions handling. While we cannot provide an estimate on when this might be implemented, please keep an eye on future updates. Your input is invaluable, and we hope you continue to share your ideas to help improve Second Life. Thank you!
