Account beneficiary

This may be our second life but our first life always runs out. It’s never infinite. I propose a feature where a beneficiary is named so that when that accounts creator passes away, it is then turned over to that beneficiary with the ability to add a date of death. I am a part of several art communities that already do similar to this. If this feature was around, it would’ve saved the valley regions from going off-line.

I agree. It's currently a difficult and complicated process. It could be simplified by assigning a beneficiary while you are still alive.

There is a process already in place to will your account to someone if you pass away. You, as the beneficiary would have to provide proof, of course.

Rowan Amore it's an incredibly difficult and complicated process. It could be simplified by assigning a beneficiary while you are still alive. Trust me I'm in the middle of the process now and it's a nightmare.

Elmhill Resident. That is exactly what the link I provided tells you. You assign a beneficiary. Since there may be actually money involved, ir would be an asset that, unfortunately, has to go.through the same legal process as any other asset. Perhaps they own an SL store that brings in 10s of thousands per month. LL has to abide by legal standards when transferring that account to you.

Hello, and thank you for your feature request regarding an account beneficiary system. This idea has been brought up before by another resident, and we are merging your comments to help prioritize it. We understand the importance of preserving the investments and contributions of our residents, especially in the unfortunate event of their passing. While we cannot provide an estimate on when this feature might be implemented, please keep an eye on future updates. We appreciate your input and hope you continue to share your ideas to help improve Second Life. Thank you!
