Warehouse District

Suggesting a warehouse district theme for Linden Homes. This would solve a bunch of things at the same time.
- Camera clipping through the ceiling or awkward navigation for people who play really zoomed out.
- "It feels too small. I'd rather be on this platform in the sky." (Paraphrased from real conversation I had yesterday.)
- More options for people who don't want to mimic real life. (This also checks the "I wish I could do this irl but zoning laws exist" box.)
- Free usage of the entire parcel while still following the covenant. (Since warehouses are rectangular, can extend all the way up the road, and usually don't have windows.)

"warehouse district theme for Linden Homes"
I mean this in itself should explain why it makes no sense, but I didn't want to go into that. Instead, this:
"It feels too small. I'd rather be on this platform in the sky."
Okay so this needs to be addressed whenever it comes up because this trend needs to stop. Normally I would ask how it could feel so small, all the Linden Homes I've ever been in (not every single model of building though) felt so spacious, except maybe the staircases in some. I would say if you don't live in a mansion, the stairs wouldn't be wide and spacious anyway. I don't need to ask though, because I can see this every day. Avatars are simply
too tall
. I really don't know why people with human avatars feel like they need to be 9 feet tall. I get it if one's a giraffe-human hybrid or a werewolf or a dragon, they're big alright. Hello, humans aren't that tall, though! Realistic human height tops at about 25 on the avatar height slider in the shape depending on other height-dependent sliders such as leg, torso, neck and hip length. Mine is nearly 5'10" with height at 20, neck 38, torso 50, legs 70 and hips probably 50 as well. I bet these 8-9 feet tall people just wanted to be the tallest not to feel inferior to others with taller avatars. It comes with a price, which is that everything of normal size will "feel too small", with the bonus that some of us will laugh at you, too.Neon Lyter
AlettaMondragon Resident Height has nothing to do with this. My avatar is 4' 9".

Neon Lyter so it only feels too small to the person you had that conversation with, but not to you? I mean, whenever I find myself in a building that was clearly made for 8' tall (or more) avatars, I instantly feel like I'm in a giant's home. Warehouses, factory buildings, hangars, etc are spacious of course. It is not that they couldn't be used as living spaces, and it happens on Mainland fairly often (I lived in a repurposed warehouse building for a while too and it was fun, but it wasn't bigger than an average house in SL). When it is about Linden
Homes
though, it is probably the weirdest suggestion to build an entire warehouse district. However, thinking of how poorly they made that last theme they added, whatever it is called in the Southwest of Bellisseria (mostly the infrastucrure elements), an industrial theme wouldn't be so bad. Otherwise I still say townhouses would be quite nice and that would break up the suburban atmosphere a little, but they rejected that suggestion way back in late 2019.
